Have you ever considered what else you can use apples for other than a fresh snack or apple pie? Come join us on November 6, 2019, for a Lunch and Learn to make fresh applesauce! While there are not abundant apple orchards in Hyde County, we will have apples fresh off the trees a bit to the west of us. You will learn a simple, healthy applesauce recipe you can recreate in your own home! Maybe you have a Mattamuskeet Apple tree or two in your yard or your friend does and tends to have just too many to eat fresh. Applesauce is a great way to use and preserve a wonderful, fresh fruit! You can preserve it even longer with canning or even freezing it.

Registration is required and only $5 per person. You will leave with a jar of applesauce to take home, recipe used, tips and tricks and other interesting information about apples and ways to use applesauce as a healthier alternative in other recipes!!

Contact CatieJo Black, FCS Agent, to reserve your spot! See flyer for more details!
