Join Hyde County's FCS Agent to learn how to safely operate a pressure canner, allowing preservation of your wild game in a delicious and shelf-stable manner.
Experience is not necessary, and if you have pressure canned meat before, come on and join us also!
You do not need to live in Hyde County to participate, though the class will be held at the Hyde County Government Center. Registration is FREE.
Class will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, 10 am–12:30 p.m. Class size is limited to 12 participants.
*Please note: The "Wild Game Food Safety – From Field to Table (Virtual Recording)" is required to be “attended” and viewed before moving on to in-person processing classes. This video was taught and recorded in September 2020. After registered, you will be sent a YouTube link to this recording along with a short survey that covers the main points addressed. If you attended this class in 2020, you do not need to retake it.
Afternoon/evening classes can be added with at least 5 participants confirmed. Contact CatieJo directly to discuss arranging an evening class for a specific topic.
