Link Sausage Class

Join Hyde County's FCS Agent to learn how to operate a meat grinder and prepare venison for link sausage! Time permitting, we will start the smoking process for the prepared links.

You will leave with pork fat to use in your own next batch and a new appreciation for linked sausage.

You do not need to live in Hyde County to participate, though the class will be held at the Hyde County Government Center. Registration is FREE. If you have not already received a digital food thermometer, you will also receive one to help you cook food safely while at home.

Class will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, 10 a.m.–1 p.m., in the Teaching Kitchen within the government center building. Class size is limited to 12 participants.

*Please note: TheWild Game Food Safety – From Field to Table (Virtual Recording)” is required to be “attended” and viewed before moving on to in-person processing classes. This video was taught and recorded in September 2020. After registered, you will be sent a YouTube link to this recording along with a short survey that covers the main points addressed. If you attended this class in 2020, you do not need to retake it. Register for this food safety class

Afternoon/evening classes can be added with at least 5 participants confirmed. Contact CatieJo directly to discuss arranging an evening class for a specific topic.
