Robert Walters

Robert has been at Vernon James Center since 2021 building infrastructure capacity to examine the relationships between field water availability, yield, and nutrient utilization in corn and soybean cropping systems. Prior NCSU-sponsored projects have leveraged cross-cutting approaches to develop and validate water-efficient, high-yield enabling “smart” linear move irrigation technologies, and proximal and remote sensor technology applications for an integrated high-throughput digital trait intelligence platform with NCSU, agribusiness, and commodity group partners.
