A Field Technician's role encompasses a range of field and laboratory tasks crucial for agricultural and environmental research. In the field, they set up, maintain, and monitor experimental plots or study areas, while also collecting various samples such as soil and plant tissues. Their responsibilities include capturing images of crops for documentation and analysis. Once samples are collected, the technician transitions to laboratory work, where they process the gathered materials. This involves drying and grinding plant samples, sieving soil samples to remove debris and standardize particle size, and preserving specimens for long-term storage. Throughout these processes, the technician maintains accurate records and ensures proper handling of all samples, contributing to the integrity and success of research projects.
