Learn a timeless skill while creating something uniquely your own! Whether you've never picked up a needle or are looking to refresh your skills, this beginner-friendly workshop will teach the essentials of hand sewing and basic embroidery in a fun, supportive environment.
Participants will learn practical techniques for everyday clothing repairs, including how to hem pants, mend small holes and tears, and securely sew on buttons. You'll also explore basic embroidery stitches as you personalize a fabric item of your choice—such as a sweatshirt, canvas shoes, tote bag, or other fabric accessory—with decorative stitching, florals, or initials.
There will be plenty of time to practice each skill and receive one-on-one guidance as you begin your personalized project. While you may not finish your project during class, you'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to complete it at home.
Registration includes all instructional materials, embroidery supplies, a printed stitch guide, and a take-home sewing kit to continue practicing your new skills.
Participants should bring one fabric item to embroider, such as a sweatshirt, canvas shoes, tote bag, denim jacket, apron, or similar item. No prior sewing experience is required.

This is intended to be an adult class. Youth ages 8-13 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the workshop. Youth ages 14-18 can be dropped off but must be registered in 4HOnline.
