What Is 4-H?
North Carolina 4-H empowers youth ages 5 to 18 to "learn by doing" through hands-on experiences and supportive adult partnerships that spark curiosity and build lifelong real-world skills.
Delivered statewide by N.C. Cooperative Extension in partnership with NC State University and N.C. A&T State University, 4-H is highly accessible—membership is free, and most activities come with little to no cost. Young people can get involved through local clubs, camps, school programs, and independent projects.

Our Mission:
The mission of 4-H is to help youth grow and develop through learn-by-doing experiences. The mission of North Carolina Cooperative Extension is "to help create prosperity for North Carolina through programs and partnerships focused on agriculture and food, health and nutrition, and 4-H youth development."
