Summer 2025 Camp Highlights
OBX Kayaking & Beach Fun – June 4 ($50, Ages 12–18, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Explore the beautiful Outer Banks on a kayaking adventure, then relax at the beach! Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office by 9 a.m.
Master Chefs: Hyde County – June 11–12 ($25, Ages 5-12, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Young chefs will learn to cook and bake using local Hyde County ingredients and unique recipes! Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office. PLEASE NOTE: Ages 5-7 on June 11th and Ages 8-12 on June 12th.
4-H Decoy Carving – June 13 ($25, Ages 12–18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Carve with world-class decoy artists at The Olde Store in Nebraska, NC. Please arrive by 9 a.m.
Bakers in Training – June 17 ($20, Ages 8–12, 9 a.m.-Noon)
Hands-on cookie and cupcake decorating fun at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office.
Charcuterie Board Artistry – June 24 ($40, Ages 12–18, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Create your own party-ready board—includes custom board and goodies! Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office. PLEASE NOTE: Ages 5-7 will meet 10 a.m.-Noon and Ages 8-12 will meet 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
County/District Activity Day – June 19 (Free, Ages 5–18)
Learn presentation skills and shine while sharing your favorite topics! Presentation practices and County Activity Day will be held at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office. The District Activity Day will be held in Martin County.
Project: Rescue Rising – June 25–27 ($50, Ages 12–18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Solve a mystery at the Mattamuskeet Wildlife Refuge with EMS, mapping, and survival skills. Learn all about Hyde County Emergency Management Services and the cool technology they use to help us in our daily lives. Meet us at the Mattamuskeet Lodge.
KEEP CALM AND TIE DYE ON – July 1 ($30, Ages 5+, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Craft blankets, towels, and socks just in time for the 4th of July. Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office. PLEASE NOTE: Ages 5-7 will meet 9 a.m.-Noon and Ages 8+ will meet 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
All Fired Up Grilling Camp – July 2 ($25, Ages 11–18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Master the grill! Learn food safety and make quick summer meals. Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office.
“Meet A Farmer” Field Tour – July 9–10 ($25, Ages 5–11, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Hop on a farm tour and discover how your food is grown and harvested. Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office.
Tech Titans Robotics – July 15 ($15, Ages 8–13, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Build and code LEGO robots in this interactive STEM workshop. Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office.
NC 4-H Congress – July 21–25 ($250, Ages 13–18, Overnight)
Travel to Raleigh for a statewide leadership and networking experience! We will be departing from the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office. More details will be emailed out to participants as the time nears.
NextGen Ready – July 29–30 ($50, Ages 13–18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Learn real-life “adulting” skills—budgeting, job interviews, and more! Meet us at the Hyde County Cooperative Extension Office.
