The Master Gardener℠ volunteers (EMGVs) of Haywood County announce the 2020 Garden Tour, taking place across Haywood County on July 11, 2020. The tenth Haywood County Garden Tour showcases the diversity and bounty of Haywood horticulture. From market farms to native landscapes, the owners have met the challenges of growing in the mountains with creativity, care and generosity.

The Tour includes six gardens across Haywood County:

  • Mountaintop venue with cultivated and native plantings, waterfalls, Koi ponds, and long-range views.
  • An abundant mountain manor, complete with an impressive greenhouse, farm animals, and exquisite gardens.
  • An unexpected gem, featuring restored streams and woodlands, shade gardens populated with native plants, plus a multitude of edible gardens.
  • Eclectic urban garden mixing traditional southern plantings with an Asian flair, showcasing the best of a world traveler’s treasures.
  • A sunny market farm that delights visitors with chickens, pollinator meadows, and a wonderful example of a rain garden.
  • Sustainability in action at a unique homestead carved out of a mountain cove. This homestead supports a family and produces market vegetables, fruits, and a few surprises.
